Hi, Don –

The fees for guides are around $500 now. Some will charge more, but allow you to take multiple hogs. Some will charge less, but add a fee back on if/when you get one.

As far as meat processing, my pig was about #70 on the hook. I had a lot of it made into sausage (which is expensive) and I think the total fee came to about $140. I did this at Los Gatos Meats, which isn't known for being inexpensive, so you may be able to do better.

Hi Mike:
Enjoyed your article. I started hunting waterfowl a few years back and it's been fun. Can you give me some more info on your pig hunt? I'd like to know, roughly, what I'd expect to pay for a guide and meat processing.
Thanks,
Don Shell
