Summary
This ammunition did well in the crimp-jump tests, with the test cartridges enduring 18, 13 and 15 firings before finally failing. Velocities hovered around the 1500 fps mark, which I expect should be plenty to acheive expansion. The 240-grain bullet is probably a little small for bear defense, but this cartridge should perform admirable for a variety of other applications.
The Hornady ammunition was also the first to be tested in the Ransom rest. Hornady predicted improved performance from the rest (which I initially didn’t believe) and the results proved him right.
